국회 상임위 문턱 넘은 AI 데이터센터법…LNG·원자력 직접거래 허용될까
- 인공지능(AI) 산업 핵심 인프라인 데이터센터(DC)를 육성하기 위한 특별법이 국회 상임위 문턱을 넘었다
- 다만 발전사업자와 기업 간 직접 전력 거래를 어느 발전원까지 허용할지는 부처 간 이견이 좁혀지지 않아 추가 조율이 필요하다.
- 가장 큰 쟁점은 직접 전력거래계약(PPA) 허용 범위로 현재 재생에너지에 한정된 PPA 를 액화천연가스(LNG)와 원자력까지 확대할지를 두고 부처 간 합의가 이뤄지지 않고있다.
Dutch nuclear new-build partnership announced
- Dutch heavy lifting and transport specialist Mammoet and nuclear development company ULC-Energy have signed a cooperation agreement to streamline the construction of new nuclear power facilities in the Netherlands.
- In August 2022, Rolls-Royce SMR signed an exclusive agreement with ULC-Energy to collaborate on the deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR power plants in the Netherlands.
- Mammoet looks forward to benefitting from a partner in ULC-Energy that is familiar with Rolls-Royce technology, while supporting with early-stage strategy on how to build new nuclear plants with efficiency.
Hanford places first vitrified waste canisters in disposal cell
- The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management announced that it has begun the permanent disposal of the first containers of vitrified low-level radioactive tank waste at the Hanford Site near Richland, Wash.
- According to DOE-EM, the Integrated Disposal Facility received the first containers from the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, where the waste is vitrified, last fall, staging them on a nearby concrete pad to prepare them for disposal.
- About 25 containers are now ready to be moved into the disposal cell.
