임갑수 한미 원자력협력 정부대표 방미…농축·재처리 등 협의 조율
- 외교부는 "임갑수 한미 원자력협력 정부대표가 10일 제2차 원자력에너지정상회의 참석 후 미국을 방문 중에 있다"며 "임갑수 대표는 미 국무부 에너지보호, 핵안보층 관련 인사들을 만나서 원자력 분야 한미 협력 방안을 논의할 예정"이라고 말했다.
- 임 대표는 한미 정상이 합의한 공동 팩트시트의 안보 분야에 속한 우라늄 농축·사용후핵연료 재처리 권한 확보에 관해 주로 논의할 예정이지만 한국의 핵추진 잠수함건조에 대한 미측 반응이나 의견 등도 수렴할 것으로 알려졌다.
- 이번 임 대표의 방미는 늦어도 3월 중순으로 예상됐던 미 정부 대표단의 방한 일정이 계속 지연됨에 따라 팩트시트 합의의 한 축인 안보분야 후속 협상에 좀 더 속도를 내기 위한 외교부의 의지가 반영될 것으로 볼 수 있다.
Urenco reports order book at record levels
- Urenco says the company's order book "is now at record levels, having risen to EUR21.3 billion (USD24.5 billion), an increase of around 14% from 2024.
- At Capenhurst in the UK, Urenco is building the first commercial HALEU facility in Europe, with joint funding from the UK Government.
