모건스탠리 "에너지 안보에 투자해야"

DOE Unveils Initiative to Add 5 GW of Nuclear Capacity Through Uprates and Restarts
- The U.S. DOE has launched a new initiative to increase U.S. nuclear generating capacity—targeting 2.5 GW of additional nuclear capacity by 2027 and 5 GW by 2029—by expanding output from operating reactors, restarting dormant facilities, and extending the lifespans of plants already on the grid.
- The Office of Nuclear Energy said the measure aligns with a White House directive, formalized through executive orders signed in May 2025.
- NEI concluded that uprates, restarts, longer cycles, and other output increases could add over 8 GWe of new nuclear capacity over the coming decade.
First San'ao unit connected to the grid
- Unit 1 of the San'ao nuclear power plant has begun supplying electricity to the grid for the first time, China General Nuclear announced.
- The unit is the first of six Hualong One (HPR1000) reactors planned for the site in Zhejiang province.
- The unit will enter the load trial operation phase, conducting planned power increase and performance tests, and is expected to officially commence power generation in the first half of 2026."
