Czech Republic Seeks To Extend Lifetime Of Dukovany Nuclear Plants By 20 Years
- Czech state power company ČEZ has started a preparatory process to enable the long-term operation of the Dukovany nuclear power station.
- Dukovany’s four units could run for a total of 80 years, meaning they could operate until around 2065 to 2067, subject to continued investment.
- Upgrades at both nuclear stations in recent years mean they generate significantly higher power outputs than when they were commissioned – around 512 MW for the Dukovany units and 1,086 MW at Temelín.
US Air Force Chooses Two Bases As Possible Nuclear Micro-reactor Sites
- The US Air Force has chosen Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado and Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana as potential locations to site nuclear micro-reactors.
- A statement said the decision was made in conjunction with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) under the federal advanced nuclear power for installations (ANPI) program.
- It is anticipated commercial reactor companies will site, license, construct, operate and decommission the micro-reactors.

- 한수원은 앞으로 6개월간 출력을 점진적으로 높여 주요 설비와 안전 계통의 정상 작동 여부를 면밀히 점검한 뒤, 최종 성능과 안전성이 검증되면 9~10월쯤 100% 출력으로 상업 운전을 시작할 계획이다.
