EC launches investigation into French nuclear funding plans
- The EC launches an in-depth investigation into whether France's planned public support for its new nuclear programme is within the EU’s rules on state aid.
- France says the new nuclear plans aim to increase energy security for France and neighbouring countries and contributing to the EU's de-carbonisation targets.
- The EC said the proposed French government support would be in the form of "a sub-sidised loan at a preferential rate, covering 60% of the estimated construction costs; a two-way contract for difference running for 40 years to provide stable revenues to the plants".

OPG applies for operating licence for BWRX-300 SMR
- Canada's Ontario Power Generation has submitted its application for a licence to operate the first BWRX-300 SMR at the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
