US companies selected for advanced fuel production
- The US Department of Energy selected Terrestrial Energy, TRISO-X, Valar Atomics, and Oklo to build advanced nuclear fuel lines under the Fuel Line Pilot Program.

Belgium's Tihange 1 nuclear reactor ends 50 years of service
- Belgium’s Tihange 1 nuclear reactor was permanently shut down on 30 September after 50 years of operation, in line with the country’s nuclear phase-out policy.
- The reactor produced over 327 TWh of carbon-free electricity and now enters a decommissioning phase set to begin in 2028 and last until 2040.
