UK Announces Final Investment Decision For £38 Billion Sizewell C
- The UK has agreed a deal worth more than £38bn with private investors to back the Sizewell C nuclear power station project – a major step forward in the delivery of what the government called a new “golden age” of nuclear.
- The National Wealth Fund – the government’s principal investor and policy bank – is making its first investment in nuclear energy. It will provide the majority of the project’s debt finance, working alongside Bpifrance Assurance Export, to help support the building of the power plant.
- The government said its nuclear programme is now the most ambitious for a generation. Once small modular reactors (SMRs) and Sizewell C come online in the 2030s, combined with Hinkley Point C, this will deliver more new nuclear to the grid than over the previous half century combined.

Nuclear energy firms see $1.2B following Trump's executive orders
- Trump has placed energy dominance at the core of his economic and national security agenda. American nuclear energy companies are securing hundreds of millions of dollars in new investments following a series of executive orders aimed at boosting domestic nuclear power and reducing reliance on foreign sources.
- TerraPower, founded by Bill Gates, announced a $650 million investment in part with NVentures, the venture capital arm of NVIDIA. The funding comes as TerraPower looks to launch the nation's first commercial nuclear power plant.
- Oklo co-founder and CEO Jacob DeWitte said the nuclear energy startup lined up $460 million in funding in June. Additionally, nuclear energy tech startup Radiant announced in late May that it had secured an additional $165 million in funding, bringing the company’s total venture investment to $225 million.
