두산에너빌리티, 뉴스케일 SMR 제작순항…한-미 원전협력 ‘핵심 연결고리’ 주목
- 두산에너빌리티가 미국 뉴스케일(NuScale)사의 소형모듈원전(SMR) 모듈 제작을 차질없이 수행하며 글로벌 SMR 공급망 및 한미 원전협력의 핵심 연결고리로 부상하고 있다.
- 뉴스케일 사정에 정통한 관계자는 최근 본지와의 통화에서 “현재 두산에너빌리티가 뉴스케일의 SMR 모듈 12기를 제작 중"이라며, “조만간 월 1기씩 제작이 가능한 능력을 확보할 전망" 이라고 밝혔다.
- 이 같은 양산체제 구축은 뉴스케일이 미국 유타전력공사(UES), 테네시밸리당국(TVA) 등과 함께 추진 중인 VOYGR-12 프로젝트 실현의 핵심 관건으로 꼽혀왔다.
