US Chooses Five Advanced Nuclear Reactor Developers For Haleu Supply
- The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced conditional commitments to supply high assay low enriched uranium (Halue) to five domestic nuclear developers to meet their short-term fuel needs.
- The DOE said it had received requests from 15 companies under its Haleu allocation process and identified five to receive initial supplies.
- The five are Triso-X, Kairos Power, Radiant Industries, Westinghouse Electric and TerraPower.
Proposal for Norwegian SMR power plant progresses
- The Norwegian government has commissioned several agencies to develop an Environmental Impact Assessment programme for the proposed power plant based on multiple SMRs in the municipalities of Aure and Heim.
- Norsk Kjernekraft submitted a proposal to Norway's Ministry of Energy in November 2023 for an assessment into the construction of the small modular reactor (SMR) plant.
